Frederic Fekkai Salon, Dallas TX

The Frederic Fekkai salon in Dallas, TX was completed in Fall 2007 under a tight schedule. This schedule along with the field conditions really challenged the Project Manager throughout the __ weeks of installation. During this time the millwork was brought into a site without a ceiling. Both the product and the ceiling were installed simultaneously in order to save time. This required careful maneuvering and critical decision making. In addition, the floor was out and so it had to be shimmed and scribed to level it off. These conditions could have changed the dynamics of the entire job; however, we made it work in order to meet our deadline.

Installing the product display wall return panels was another big challenge at Fekkai Dallas. We had to use custom laid-up veneers on this wall to make each panel appear identical to its neighbor. Each veneer was center and book matched to ensure that they all looked one in the same. This wall also had a large backlight display door. We had to engineer a 2” walnut frame that was stiff enough to keep it from bending and buckling under the weight of the backlit image. Below you will find images of this display wall along with photos of the whole shop before and after installation.
