Our History – Daniel DeMarco and Associates was established in 1989 by Daniel DeMarco and current employee Frank Mauro. Their goal was to provide quality service within the architectural millwork industry, while at the same time creating an environment in which employees felt valued and able to perform at the highest level. The company established its first factory in Deer Park, NY and quickly became a top provider of high-end residential cabinetry on Long Island’s North Shore. With no advertising budget in the first year, DDMA accumulated contacts and clientele via word-of-mouth. As the company’s reputation grew, so did our staff.
As retail design assumed a more residential look in the 1990’s, DDMA’s relationships with its general contractors and architects launched us into the realm of high-end retail. We became widely recognized for the high quality of work and service that we provided for our clients’ flagship stores and one-of-a-kind retail venues. As the number of jobs multiplied and the designs became more specialized, we established our design development and detailed drafting departments in order to help architects and designers manage the various stages of the engineering process. We also began training our project managers internally and promoting from within, as evidenced in the case of Dennis Locher, who became a partner several years ago. Today, DDMA’s project management and design development teams allow the company to provide their signature personalized service for each client, on every job.
In May 2005, Dan and Dennis teamed up with longtime friend Charlie DeTillio and his associate Gil D’Orazio, to create Amity Wood Industries. The Amity division sought to fill customers’ needs for multiple in-store shop fixtures; allowing us to provide one-stop shopping for our clients. We were now able to oversee all aspects of a given project; including design development, prototypes and project management.
In June 2007, DDMA and Amity Wood Industries moved to their current location at 25 Greene Avenue in Amityville. Our fully renovated and customized office space underscored the company’s commitment to our employees and clients alike, by creating an atmosphere that was both professional and creative.
In June 2011, DDMA and Amity Wood Industries merged; with Charlie and Gil becoming partners with Dan and Dennis at DDMA. As always, we remain staunchly committed to providing superior workmanship and unsurpassed service to our customers.
