Welcome to The Back Corner, a blog about every corner of the company, written from the back corner of the office.
Over here, at Daniel DeMarco & Associates, the first few months of 2019 have been treating us awfully well. On top of the month-long celebration of our 30th anniversary, we’ve also been rewarded new projects, wrapped up some ongoing projects, traveled throughout the country, posted countless Instagrams, and more! This blog is the newest addition to the list of great things in 2019. As well, it’s another way of celebrating 30 years of business!
What is the blog?
The Back Corner is somewhere for all our friends to visit and not only find out the latest DDMA news but the latest millwork trends, the office’s favorite lunch, details on a specific project, and much more! We wanted to create a platform to give our clients a better understanding of who we are. Whether you’ve been with us for a long time or a short time, you’ll get an inside look at DDMA that you’ve never seen before.
How can you access our new blog? That’s a great question, thanks for asking. We’ll be posting directly onto our website for easy viewing at all times and when there’s a new post you can find out via all of our social media platforms. Yes, that includes – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We’ll also usually include it in our monthly email blasts, which you can subscribe to here.
Our inaugural post, while also introducing the blog to you, is also to give you total insight into our 30th anniversary. If you’ve been getting our monthly emails, you might have noticed that we’ve been teasing the 30th since December 2018. We just couldn’t be more excited about this milestone! We want to share how we celebrated with you, but first, we want to express what this 30-year mark means to us.
Our thoughts on 30
I asked our President and CEO, Dan DeMarco, what he thought about the past 30 years. His response was to compare these years to “the best roller coaster ride”. He mentioned that the journey has been filled with ups and downs, but extraordinary nonetheless.
He’s watched our business grow from cabinetry on the North Shore to flagship stores in Europe! We’ve created some of the most unique millwork projects in the world. We’ve met so many different people in the process, both employees and clients.
To reach this 30-year mark is a big deal for us and that’s why we took a month to truly sit back and celebrate. Not to worry – we didn’t literally sit back, we’re all continuously working hard in and out of the office to provide the high-quality and focus that we promise, but we are also took the time to look back on this journey and reflect. So to commemorate our achievement, we’ve done a few things.
Here they are –
The first – started this blog! We’ve already told you why we started this blog, so we won’t bore you with the details again, but basically we want a place to really connect with our clients and we think that this could be the best way to do it.
The second – redesigned our whole website! It’s 2019 and we wanted to give our website updates that are current and new. We took the time to test our old website and figure out what worked best and how we could incorporate that into a more modern design, that was also mobile-friendly. We are so excited to be able to show everyone the final result! Be sure to let us know what you think. We’ve kept the same kind of information that you loved from our original site, but also updated our team biographies and pictures, our portfolio pages, and added this blog page. We always strive to continuously grow, that’s how we’ve stayed around for 30 years, and that‘s how we plan to stay around for the next 30.
While all of 2019 marks our 30th anniversary, you may be wondering why we celebrated in April. April of 1989 was when DDMA was founded, so we decided to turn April into one long birthday month. You may see some posts about our 30th throughout the rest of the year but we wanted to have one month dedicated to celebration and commemoration.
As we begin, we want to truly thank everyone that has joined us in our 30-year journey. We couldn’t have done it without the continued love and support from our family, friends, and clients. We’re excited for the next 30 years!
